Marketing Communications Specialist, Stockholm

Stockholm, Stockholm County, Sweden

Columbia Road is a digital growth agency challenging the old ways of running ecommerce and digital business. We exist to increase our clients’ revenue and help them get more customers in the digital era. Our tight-knit team consists of business consultants who understand software as well as business-minded digital marketing, design and technology specialists.

We are a people-first company and a great place to work - in 2018 we were selected as one of the best companies for developers in Finland. Our company spirit is one of a true start-up, but with a twist of hard-core experience. We believe in giving a lot of responsibility and freedom to our employees. We love to laugh a lot, play some tunes at the office and grab a few drinks after work.

Job Description

At Columbia Road, we believe that marketing and sales should be a joint effort. Marketing is not an add-on, it’s right there in the core of our business. Therefore, in this internal marketing role you work closely with the local and global sales teams, understand the local market and clients’ needs, and coordinate Columbia Road's global marketing campaigns and events locally.

You have the skills and courage to investigate, analyse and suggest both small experiments as well as bold moves to our organisation. You're a team player and great at communicating your ideas in a way that is both business-driven and goal oriented.

We’re now building our internal team of dedicated people who are generalists in their mindset and ways-of-working. All of us at Columbia Road are T-shaped professionals with a strong, proven vertical in one area. In this role that area can be, for example, content production, marketing technology or marketing design.

You have a wide variety of tools and methods in your toolbox related to your vertical. In general, you know your way with CRMs, SEM, SEO, SMM and MA. You’ve gained real-life experience in creating multi-touchpoint campaigns in both digital and the real world. You have your antlers up for juicy PR stories and know how to throw an event everyone talks about for weeks after.

You understand that there are no silver bullets for complex problems. Therefore you are always willing to learn new things, try out new tools or ideas and have an analytical mindset towards analysing the success of these experiments.

In order to be successful in this role, you should have native-level proficiency in the Swedish language as well as excellent written and oral skills in English. You have worked in an agency or consultancy setting before, and you are ambitious and results-oriented in everything you do, but you like to have fun as well.

Recruitment Process

First interview: before diving deeper into your skills, we want to know who you are and what motivates you. This is also an opportunity for you to learn more about Columbia Road. We also let you present highlights from your past jobs and tell us about your roles and learnings.

Second interview: you get to meet more Columbia Road people, and the conversation will zoom in on the areas that we’ve identified as most interesting in the first meeting. We’re trying to get a solid understanding of your skills and ambitions. You will understand better how you would potentially fit into our team.

Sometimes it’s useful to have a third round. After all, we’re making a match between our organisation and you, as a human being. We want to get this right.

When we’re done with the face-to-face discussions, we’ll contact the people you have chosen as references.

We hope to hear from you soon!

PLEASE NOTE: We are currently not able to offer this position to anyone who does not have a valid working visa in Sweden or a EU citizenship that allows you to work in EU countries.

We offer competitive benefits to all our employees. In addition, you’ll get to work with and learn from the best people in the industry in a truly flat organisation. We value our employees’ personal development highly and offer recurring training & learning sessions. You’ll get used to Friday breakfasts with your colleagues and yearly weekend excursions with the whole company (so far, we’ve been to Tallinn, Berlin and London).
